January Recap
I’ve been tying to think up a marvelous summary of my January that will be both entertaining and encouraging to all of you, but all I really want to share is the way that God moves through his sons and daughters (us).
I joined “Nexwave” a youth ministry in YWAM Perth that works with high schoolers. We had a week long summer camp backed up with a 10 day outreach where 6 of the campers signed up to stay on the YWAM base with us and live a life of a missionary. This looked like loads of evangelism with the campers and spending every day (and night) with them. It was very challenging at times to give myself wholeheartedly to the kids for 2 weeks straight, but in the end I learned a lot as well. I watched these kids grow in faith and in excitement for our savior. I got to stand by their side in doubts, fears, and even fun times. I was able to pray for dozens of campers while also walking the streets of Perth nearly everyday evangelizing to strangers. This looked like chatting with people, praying with them, sharing the gospel, sharing our stories, and just getting to know them. I’ve been learning this month that you can truly never share enough. If you ask God he WILL give you the words, the boldness, and even the right people with ready hearts to hear what you have to share. Our God is worthy to be talked about. It becomes FUN to reach out and talk with new people and hear their stories. Every human is so unique. They all have a different story to tell. Each time I get to know someone new I find a new revelation myself. It may be as simple as how to share the gospel more clearly the next time you get the chance, or it could be something more serious like how you view something in your own character. Overall I’ve learned and put into practice the action of reaching other souls.
Whether you witness God radically save someone through you, or just enjoy new people to converse with. It is NEVER a bad idea to speak to that person in front of you in line, or take the conversation further than you normally would with your Uber driver. It’s so important that we physically reach out to people that live amongst us. This is the first step to bringing the kingdom of God to them!
