YWAM Australia, Margaret River CS, DTS Hello Friends! Welcome to my blog! I am so glad you have chosen to read more about the ministry of YWAM / Christian Surfers of Perth, Australia and my role in it. I am currently a “soon-to-be” staff member and am looking for people who would love to stand beside me in my journey with funding and prayer. But first, I’d like to share with you specifics of this incredible mission and the impact your prayer and finances would make. YWAM is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian, missionary organization founded in 1960. It hosts more than 1,100 ministry bases in over 180 countries training upwards of 25,000 volunteer missionaries annually. It’s purpose is to develop students’ relationship with God and others, help them find God’s purpose for their lives, and empower them to live Christ-live lives no matter their vocation. Their motto is “Know God and Make Him Known”! This is accomplished through DTS (Discipleship Training ...

Margaret River Outreach Hello sweet church family! I hope and pray you are all doing well. I’m so excited to share with you all what God has produced out of the DTS I recently finished staffing. As you know there are two parts of a DTS (Discipleship training school), the first being the lecture phase, the main theme of my last update, and the second being the outreach phase. During the recent outreach phase, we split the school into two groups. The first group consisted of 5 students and one staff member, Alex. They went to Indonesia and Japan. The second group was made up of 5 students, Kolton, a fellow-staff member, and me. Our group went to Margaret River for 6 weeks, followed with 6 more weeks in Sri Lanka. Today I want to highlight our six weeks in Margaret River and share a bit more in depth everything God did through the team. Margaret River is what my Leaders, Terry and Janice, and I call the “Promise Land”. It’s where Terry and Janice wi...

Hello friends! I wanted to share with you all a deeper look into what staffing a Surfers DTS looks like! I put together a summary of the first three months, Lecture Phase. This is just the minor details of this amazing three months! Please take your time to see how God has been moving, speaking, and loving on His people! Every week we were given a topic to study, along with an awesome speaker to teach on it! I wanted to share the main highlight for myself, or for what I saw in the students over each week! I hope you enjoy reading about the little wonders of our Father! Week one, Hearing Gods voice: This topic is most always the first one that the students will go through. The students were challenged in how they spend their time and how important it is to take time to listen for God and just spend quality time with Him. My favorite part of this week was getting to see everyone hear specifically from God on the application of the week. That...

No words can describe the life I’m living here is Western Australia. Day after day of sitting in class rooms with different speakers each week, alll of them hearing specifically and uniquely from God. Different cultures and lifestyles combine. Conversations in the room with people speaking French, and some Swiss German. There are also accents varying from American ,European, Canadian, and Aussie mixing in. It’s amazing how God takes such simple daily conversations, and turns them into impactful and meaningful encounters. When he’s apart of the picture everything becomes interesting. From hearing about revelations to the way he’s speaking differently to each person is mind blowing. I love being apart of DTS. I love going for morning surfs and having my family in the water with me. I love the support I get when I’m surfing with them. It’s fun sharing this love with strangers in the water together. I feel truly accepted when I’m with them. The truth is that Chr...
January Recap

I’ve been tying to think up a marvelous summary of my January that will be both entertaining and encouraging to all of you, but all I really want to share is the way that God moves through his sons and daughters (us). I joined “Nexwave” a youth ministry in YWAM Perth that works with high schoolers. We had a week long summer camp backed up with a 10 day outreach where 6 of the campers signed up to stay on the YWAM base with us and live a life of a missionary. This looked like loads of evangelism with the campers and spending every day (and night) with them. It was very challenging at times to give myself wholeheartedly to the kids for 2 weeks straight, but in the end I learned a lot as well. I watched these kids grow in faith and in excitement for our savior. I got to stand by their side in doubts, fears, and even fun times. I was able to pray for dozens of campers while also walking the streets of Perth nearly everyday evangelizing to strangers. This looked like chatting with p...

When I was sixteen, my world was turned upside down through an unexpected discovery. It began in early February, just as winter was showing itself in Florida. Bored with our lives of inactivity, my friend, Hannah, and I set out on an adventure to experiment with an old surfboard she had obtained. A trip to the thrift shop and a purchase of a $40 wetsuit with a rip up the leg was all I needed to get started! My first time, I used a paddle-less paddle board my family shared. It was a stormy day and the waves were super choppy. Even still, I managed to catch one of those waves and stand for nearly half a second! That was the moment I knew I was hooked! That was the moment the trajectory of my life shifted; surfing would forever be a part of who I was. And God would use this love to guide me through significant steps in His plan for me. It didn’t take long for me to realize that female surfers were lacking on the Gulf Coast; 95% of the sport driven by males of all ages. The boys my a...
